Service was amazing tonight! There was a 2 hour wait and we agreed to wait. We had Victor as our waiter and he is the best waiter we have met. He told us to come back and ask for him and we came back the next day. The food was perfect like always but Victor's service made our time memorable again. We will ask for him in the future. Thanks Victor
Wow what a treat. I'm happy I switched from my usual Lobster lunch to this decadent piece of salmon today. The salad, bread baked potato and rice pilaf were also delicious as always. Todd made for an amazing lunch with my mama. We didn't have to ask him for a thing, it's as if he read our minds through the entirety of the meal. I was very impressed and not shocked to find out he has been at this establishment for 20+ years. Thank you Todd.
Great experience here. It has a very "homey" and comforting feel. Our server was great and very attentive. Surprisingly the salad was so good! Th cheese bread that came along with the dinner was delicious also. Everything that we ordered was tasty! Would definitely recommend to try at least once!
Came here on 12/30/24. It was pretty crowded and busy (wait time 40 min) but it went by fast. My group enjoyed the complimentary peanuts while we waited. BUT one of my kids has a peanut allergy so she sat with me away from my husband and the other part of our group that was eating the peanuts. I usually eat them too, but since she was with us, I did not partake. I wonder how people with peanut allergies tolerate a place like this, It's new to us too. We sat her away from anyone eating them and made sure nothing pea-nutty touched her. Thankfully, the shells (we tossed on the floor) didn't touch her (but her shoes were thick enough that it didn't penetrate her foot). She did have anxiety about it though- this is something I never gave consideration to until the very moment of sitting inside. Peanut allergies are also new to us and new to society - this place is old school and I don't ever remember anyone with a peanut issue - in the 70's or 80's or even 90's... moving forward : Our service was good and the food was good, came in the right amount of time too. I usually come by for lunch to avoid the chaos. I heard how crazy busy it gets here. I got the chicken and potato and the hubby got a burger patty melt, my daughter got the steak and my other daughter got chicken and french fries. All tasted good and I love this place and how true they stay to their original roots. We love to come here and will continue to come back. It's such a cute place and I love how it is still old school but not run down at all. Very cute and clean, and was decorated for Christmas! I appreciate places like this and want to always be able to come and enjoy the food I just won't bring my little again due to her peanut issue. Thankyou Happy New Year!
It's always fun to come north woods. During the holidays they decorate it so lovely and festive. My favorite dish is the steak plate. We love getting the cheese bread and salad. The server was very kind and helpful with great recommendations. The restaurant is very big and great for big family gatherings.
Went here on a Friday night without reservations. Asked for a table for 2 and were seated right away. Which was kind of a bummer because I wanted to take in the Christmas vibes. It was really decked out. We order an El Quapo tequila drink was was not it and an Old fashioned which hit the spot. I wasn't as hungry so I ordered the $45 steak bites. Meat was good, came with all the fixins. Wife ordered the $59.99 Bone-in Ribeye. She loved it. Bill with tip came out to $150 Overpriced but the salads, cheese bread, and everything else is so good. Great service by Todd as well.
North Woods has always been an amazing restaurant for me and my partner to visit. We've been coming for quite some time and always get the same thing. We both split the ribeye as it's a huge steak and we definitely could not finish the one meal on our own. The staff is always so great and it's always just a pleasure to continue coming back. The cheese bread and salad is just top tier. I honestly feel more excited for the bread than my actual meal lol! The ribeye also comes with rice and a baked potato which came out so well! It's truly just stuffing and worth every buck. This time we both got cocktails to enjoy. I got the spiked strawberry lemonade and I believe my partner got the pineapple mix... I forgot the name.. but they were both super tasty! Not too strong and not too sweet. North woods is definitely a great restaurant to visit, especially for special occasions. I definitely recommend to celebrate literally anything here. It's a fun environment inside the cabin-like aesthetic which gives it its uniqueness. I can't wait to come back!
Came in tonight to celebrate a birthday with a party of five. Our server was awesome and got our drinks in a timely manner. Have eaten here often and the food is always good. Sides come with entrees and the salad and garlic bread served before the meal is pretty darn good! My only complaint is the restaurant is on the noisy side but if you are coming with a group or a celebration it probably doesn't matter. My 14oz New York steak came out cooked to perfection. Bravo to the chef!
This is an iconic Steakhouse in the Covina. It was established in the 1960s. It truly stands out as it resembles a snow-covered log cabin in the middle of the city! The Clearman restaurants have several locations, each one has a wonderful menu. They are unique in that peanuts are given and you are encourage to eat while you wait for your table and simply toss the shells on the floor! Yet, it's a great place for special occasions, a romantic date night with the dim lighting and Tiffany lamps in every room. It's classy and fun place to celebrate (P.S., a family member got engaged at this location more than 10 years ago!!). The Top Sirloin steak with Lobster cannot be beat. This combo begins with their famous CHEESEBREAD, and two salads, the first one is a green salad with Roquefort dressing and a red cabbage side salad, mix them together for a dynamite taste to whet your appetite. Next, a special stuffing is added in the Lobster tail, made of a "secret" recipe of barley and almonds. It is to die for! Their baked potato is HUGE! Be prepared to have leftovers the next day because the portions are very generous. Seafood lovers will enjoy the Salmon, Halibut, Jumbo Shrimp, Mahi-Mahi or Scallops. If you want a lighter meal they have sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs with chili and onions, and great Fried Chicken. This is a partial listing of the menu! If you can, save room for dessert, they make delicious ice cream sundaes in a schooner glass. This is a memorable place that you will enjoy, but they do not accept reservations. Plan on a wait time during peak dinner hours. Just see the hostess when you arrive and don't forget to tell 'em that Rosemary sent ya!
